Nuclear medicine is a science that makes both diagnosis and treatment by using the radiation and energy of radionuclide substances given to the patient’s body. Drugs (radiopharmaceuticals) marked with gamma radiation are used in diagnosis and radionuclides that emit beta or alpha radiation in treatment. The most common indication for scintigraphy in the mediastinum is the evaluation and follow-up of mediastinal masses detected in other images. In this section, nuclear medicine methods in mediastinal diseases will be evaluated in the light of literature.
